Journey on the Road to Freedom
Last month, an international group of visa recipients and descendants of recipients joined members of the Sousa Mendes family in an exciting and emotional journey from Paris to Bordeaux to Lisbon, recreating the exodus of 1940. The Sousa Mendes Foundation co-organized this "Journey on the Road to Freedom" in collaboration with the Comité national français en hommage à Aristides de Sousa Mendes (www.sousamendes.org) and the AJPN (www.ajpn.org).
The New York Times published a feature article this week about the delegation's visit to the Casa do Passal, the ancestral home of Aristides de Sousa Mendes. The International Herald Tribune published the same article on its front page!
