Jewish memory Center of Vila-Cova-à-Coelheira
The Jewish Memory Center of Vila-Cova-à-Coelheira has the porpose of letting others know this land, its people and the history of the presence of Jewish faith in this region.
Implemented in an 18th Century building which has been recovered for this porpose, this exposition addresses some of the most striking episodes of the lives of some families who lived and followed the laws of Moses.
With quality contents, supported by an atractive and contemporary exibition system, this center offers a historical view about the memories and stories of an oral tradition which associates the Jewish presence to Vila-Cova-à-Coelheira.
With this new equipment it is intended to create a place of knowledge and reflexion which shows us how history is made of factual proofs, but without neglecting the recent construction of the tradition and the memories of a comunity.
So, it is our intention to create a space of dynamic and open dialogue to the whole society that will allow a reflexion about faith, tolerance, respect and inter-faith dialogue.
